HiPP Dutch Goat Formula Stage 2

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2 is HiPP's premium organic goat milk formula specially designed for babies aged 6 to 12 months. This formula supports your infant’s early development and changing nutritional needs as they become more active and begin weaning. Like HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 1, it contains only A2 beta-casein protein, naturally found in goat’s milk, which is easier to digest and gentler on sensitive tummies compared to the A1 protein common in cow’s milk. This makes it a suitable choice for babies who may show signs of lactose intolerance.

This HiPP goat formula is designed for infants to serve as their primary nutritional source or in addition to breastfeeding. It also incorporates essential probiotics and prebiotics that support your baby's digestive system development. HiPP's line of Goat-milk formulas are skim-milk based and entirely starch-free. Lactose is the main carbohydrate source, making this formula very similar in composition to breastmilk. HiPP German Goat formula is also an alternative, and the composition is identical. Holle Goat Formula is another alternative that is extremely well-known and loved worldwide.

WHY DO BABIES LOVE HiPP Bio Combiotik Goat Stage PRE FORMULA?

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2 Combiotic Follow-On Formula is a nourishing and easily digestible formula designed for babies from 6 to 12 months old. This formula is made exclusively from organic ingredients, including organic skim goat’s milk, organic whey protein, and a blend of organic vegetable oils. It’s free from added sugar and maltodextrin, which many babies find difficult to digest, and is a lactose-only formula. HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2 can be used independently as a complete substitute for breast milk or as a complementary option alongside breastfeeding.

If you’re looking for a formula that is rich in vitamins, natural nutrients, fortified with iron, and lactose-rich, all derived from organic goat’s milk, then HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2 is an excellent choice. This formula has been carefully crafted with flavour in mind, and it also contains essential probiotics and prebiotics that support your baby’s digestive system development, similar to breast milk.

Moreover, the naturally occurring omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, DHA, and AA contribute to the healthy development of your baby’s eyes, brain, and nervous system.

Important – some infants may initially take time to adapt to the mild, slightly distinct taste of goat’s milk compared to cow’s milk.

It's all about milk protein

HiPP Dutch Stage 2 Goat’s Milk Formula delivers gentle, breast‑milk‑like nutrition with a key difference: goat milk is almost entirely A2 beta‑casein, whereas standard cow’s milk is a mix of A1 + A2. When A1 proteins break down, they can release a peptide (BCM‑7) that’s linked to gassiness, constipation, and gut irritation in some babies. A2 proteins do not produce BCM‑7, so they’re typically digested more quickly and comfortably. Paired with lactose‑based prebiotics that feed friendly gut bacteria, this formula helps settle tiny tummies while supporting healthy growth.

Important - some infants may not initially take to Goat's milk due to its mild gamey taste which is distinct from Cow's milk.

***Note - this formula is NOT suitable for infants with lactose intolerance or cow’s‑milk protein allergy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • WHICH HIPP FORMULA IS BETTER, DUTCH OR GERMAN?

When comparing HiPP Dutch and HiPP German formulas, the main differences lie in their ingredient composition and packaging. HiPP Dutch is known for being starch-free, making it gentler on sensitive stomachs, while HiPP German formulas often contain added starch, which provides a thicker consistency that some babies may find more filling. Both versions are made from organic ingredients and include essential nutrients like DHA, prebiotics, and probiotics to support infant development. Additionally, HiPP Dutch is packaged in larger tins (900g) compared to the smaller pouches (600g) used for HiPP German. Ultimately, the choice between the two may depend on your baby's specific needs and preferences regarding digestion and fullness. • WHAT AGE IS HIPP DUTCH STAGE 2 FOR?

HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is specially formulated for babies aged 6 to 12 months. It provides the right balance of nutrients to support your baby’s growth and development during this important stage.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIPP DUTCH 1 AND 2?

HiPP Stage 1 is designed for newborns up to 6 months, while Stage 2 is for babies 6 to 12 months. Stage 2 contains higher levels of certain nutrients like iron and vitamins to support increased growth and development.

  • DOES HIPP DUTCH HAVE ENOUGH IRON?

HiPP Dutch formulas generally provide adequate iron levels for infants. For example, HiPP Dutch Stage 1 contains about 0.5 mg of iron per 100 ml, while Stage 2 offers approximately 1 mg of iron per 100 calories. These amounts align with the nutritional guidelines set by the European Union, which recommend sufficient iron to help prevent deficiency during the early months of life. However, it's important to note that individual needs may vary, and parents should consult with a pediatrician to ensure their baby is receiving adequate iron based on their specific dietary context and health requirements.

  • IS GOAT FORMULA EASIER FOR BABIES TO DIGEST?

Goat milk formula is generally easier for babies to digest due to its unique protein and fat structure. The proteins form smaller, softer curds in the stomach, similar to breast milk, and contain predominantly A2 beta-casein protein, which can cause fewer digestive issues compared to cow milk formula. Smaller fat globules and protein digestion kinetics more closely resembling human milk contribute to better digestibility. While many babies tolerate goat milk formula well, especially those with cow milk sensitivities, individual responses vary. Parents should always consult their pediatrician before switching formulas to ensure it meets their baby's specific nutritional needs.
