Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions below
What is A2 formula?
A2 formula is made from cow’s milk that contains only the A2 type of beta-casein protein. Most cow’s milk contains both A1 and A2. Holle A2 uses Demeter-certified biodynamic A2 milk.
Is A2 formula easier to digest?
Some parents find A2 formula gentler for babies who seem sensitive to regular cow milk formula. Research is still limited, and every baby is different, so check with your pediatrician if symptoms continue.
Is Holle A2 suitable for a cow’s milk allergy?
No. Holle A2 still contains cow’s milk protein, so it isn’t suitable for a diagnosed cow’s milk protein allergy. Your pediatrician may recommend an extensively hydrolyzed or amino acid formula.
What’s the difference between Holle A2 and Holle Goat?
Holle A2 is cow’s milk with only A2 beta-casein. Holle Goat is made from goat’s milk, which naturally contains mostly A2-type protein. Both are Demeter-certified and gentle options; it often comes down to which milk your baby does better on.
Which Holle A2 stage should I start with?
Start with Holle A2 Stage 1 from birth. Move to Stage 2 at about 6 months, when the AAP recommends starting solids, and to Stage 3 as your baby gets older. Follow the age guidance on each pack.
