Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions below
What does Combiotik Mean?
Combiotik is HiPP’s name for formulas that combine prebiotics and probiotics. The prebiotic is GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides from lactose). The probiotic is Lactobacillus fermentum, a culture originally isolated from breast milk. Together they’re designed to support healthy gut flora.
Why should I choose HiPP Toddler Milk over regular cow’s milk?
You don’t have to. The AAP says healthy toddlers can drink whole cow’s milk from 12 months. Some parents choose HiPP Toddler Milk because it includes added iron and vitamin D, which plain cow’s milk lacks, and because their child is used to HiPP. Ask your pediatrician what fits your child.
What is the difference between HiPP Stage 3 and Stage 4?
The difference is age. HiPP Kindermilch 1+ and PUR Toddler Milk are for children from 12 months. HiPP Kindermilch 2+ and HiPP Dutch Junior Stage 4 are for children 2 and older. Their nutrient levels are adjusted for each age group. Both are meant to go alongside family meals, not replace them.
Does HiPP Toddler Milk contain Metafolin®?
It depends on the product. HiPP uses Metafolin®, the active form of folate, in many of its German formulas. Check the ingredient list of the toddler milk you’re choosing for “L-methylfolate” or “Metafolin®”.
Is HiPP Toddler Milk "Sugar-Free"?
No. Like all milk-based drinks, it contains lactose, the natural sugar in milk, which is its main carbohydrate. Some toddler milks also include maltodextrin or starch. HiPP PUR Toddler Milk is starch-free. Check each product’s ingredient list.
Can HiPP Toddler Milk be served cold?
Yes. Once it’s prepared, you can serve it warm, at room temperature or chilled. Use prepared milk promptly or refrigerate it, and throw away any leftovers after your toddler finishes drinking.
