HiPP Dutch Hypoallergenic Combiotik Stage 1
This hypoallergenic formula is designed for babies who are highly sensitive to cow's milk proteins or show symptoms of allergies to cow's milk. It's designed for babies from birth to six months. From a formulation perspective, it is identical to HiPP HA PRE Combiotic formula.
It also incorporates essential probiotics and prebiotics that support your baby's digestive system development. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 2 is the follow-on formula for older infants.
HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 baby formula is produced using the same organic cow's milk found in all standard HiPP formulas. However, the proteins in this formula are broken down to prevent any potential allergic reactions from your baby's immune system. This ensures that your baby receives the same nutritional benefits as other organic formulas.
Note - due to the hydrolyzed nature this formula is not branded Organic.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
IS HIPP DUTCH BETTER THAN GERMAN?
HiPP Dutch and HiPP German formulas differ primarily in packaging, starch content, and nutritional composition. HiPP Dutch is starch-free, making it easier to digest for sensitive infants, while some HiPP German formulas contain added starch for a thicker consistency. Both are nutritionally complete and adhere to strict European organic standards, but the Dutch version is often viewed as a premium choice due to its gentle formulation and sourcing from biodynamic farms. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your baby's specific needs and sensitivities, so consulting with a pediatrician is recommended before making a switch.
-
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIPP HA AND HIPP?
The difference between HiPP HA and regular HiPP formula primarily lies in their formulation and intended use. HiPP HA (hypoallergenic) is designed for infants with cow's milk protein sensitivities, featuring partially hydrolyzed proteins that are easier to digest and reduce the risk of allergic reactions, making it suitable for babies at high risk of allergies. In contrast, regular HiPP formulas contain intact cow's milk proteins and are intended for infants without specific dietary restrictions. Additionally, HiPP HA includes prebiotics and probiotics to support gut health, while regular HiPP formulas may not have the same focus on hypoallergenic properties. Overall, the choice between the two should be based on your baby's individual health needs and sensitivities.
-
DOES HIPP DUTCH HAVE ENOUGH IRON?
HiPP Dutch formula contains adequate iron levels, specifically around 0.76 mg of iron per 100 calories for Stage 1, which is designed for infants from birth to 6 months. This amount aligns with the European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) recommendations, ensuring it meets the nutritional needs of infants who typically have high iron reserves during this age. While some parents may express concerns about iron content in European formulas, studies show that HiPP and similar brands generally provide sufficient iron to support healthy growth and development in infants. However, it's essential to monitor your baby's overall health and consult a pediatrician if you have specific concerns about iron intake or potential deficiencies.
-
IS HIPP HA PARTIALLY OR FULLY HYDROLYZED?
HiPP HA is partially hydrolyzed, meaning that its proteins are broken down by approximately 86-87% to make them easier for infants to digest and to reduce the risk of allergic reactions. This partial hydrolysis allows the formula to be gentler on the stomach while still providing essential nutrients for babies, particularly those at risk of cow's milk protein allergies. In contrast, fully hydrolyzed formulas would have proteins broken down to a much greater extent, which is not the case with HiPP HA.
-
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIPP HA 1 AND 2?
The main differences between HiPP HA 1 and HiPP HA 2 formulas relate to their intended age groups and nutritional composition. HiPP HA 1 is designed for infants from birth to 6 months, providing essential nutrients that support early development, while HiPP HA 2 is formulated for babies aged 6 to 12 months, catering to their evolving nutritional needs as they begin to consume solid foods. In terms of composition, HiPP HA 2 typically contains higher levels of protein and iron compared to HA 1, which helps meet the increased energy demands of older infants who are becoming more active. Additionally, HA 2 may include starch as a carbohydrate source, providing a more sustained energy release, whereas HA 1 primarily relies on lactose. Both formulas feature partially hydrolyzed proteins to reduce allergenic potential, making them suitable for infants with sensitivities. It's important to consult with a pediatrician when transitioning between these formulas to ensure it aligns with your baby's specific dietary needs.
